If the thought of setting up an employer-sponsored discount in your office sounds difficult, you are reading way too much into the process.

The only requirement is a simple letter endorsing the insurance company, and two people from the same practice.

There is a sample on this page.

Sample Endorsement

To establish an employer-sponsored disability insurance program in your practice is quite simple. All we need is a letter from the office endorsing Berkshire as the disability insurance carrier of choice. This letter does not mean everybody in the office has to have coverage through Berkshire, everybody still has the option to purchase coverage elsewhere, and to keep the DI they already have. We would recommend calling our office at 888-513-2300 to discuss the differences between a Voluntary Income Protection Plan and a Qualified Sick Pay Plan.

Sample Letter

To: Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America

This letter is to serve notice that XYZ, Inc. a medical office located in "somewhere, state" officially endorses Berkshire Life Insurance Company of America as the preferred disability insurance policy within this practice. We have reviewed the benefits of having a ProVider Plus disability insurance policy, and believe them to be superior to other plans offered. Please establish an employer sponsored voluntary income protection plan with our office, and note the applications from;

Physician #1, Administrator #1, (and any others)

Sincerely,

Signature

That is all that is involved, as you can see, it is not that difficult to do.

Billing Options
Once an employer sponsored voluntary disability insurance program has been established your only decision becomes how you want to administer the plan.

You can request for Berkshire to bill each individual policyholder separately, or they can send the office a list bill for all the policyholders.
