Association Discount

As a member of an existing association you receive a 10% discount. The list of approved medical and dental associations are not published at the request of the associations, however if you include the name of any associations you belong to on the disability insurance quote request form, you may be provided you with the discount if your association has endorsed this product. The company has quite a few approved associations in many states. They do not have any relationships with national associations, most of the sponsoring associations are state and county medical associations. The association discounts apply to prior-approved associations only.

Employer Sponsored Discount

This is one of the easiest ways to obtain disability insurance at a discounted rate. The only thing required to establish an employer sponsored plan is a letter from the business endorsing Berkshire as the disability insurance product of choice for your business. Once there are two people from one business, there is a 10% discount on the coverage for everybody. The disability insurance can be individually billed, or the company can list bill the coverage directly to the business, the choice is yours. The two people do not both have to be physicians. Preferred Discount

Berkshire offers an additional 5% off the premium of the policy for people that are in excellent health as determined by the underwriter. Your height and weight have to be in-line, the annual premium of the policy must be over $2,000, and the policy must be issued without any pre-existing condition exclusions.
