Residual disability insurance is a vital aspect to any policy. While you could be totally disabled for a short period of time, the effects of the time off could reduce your income for even longer. The residual disability rider provides benefits until your income recovers along with you.
Class 4P Physicians

Doctors in occupational class 4P are also eligible for graded lifetime own-occupation benefits. There is absolutely no difference between the disability insurance policies of a class 4, and a class 4P physician. The only difference between a class 4P and 4 policy is the rate. Class 4P doctors pays a bit more for disability insurance because of less favorable claims experience

Own The Practice?

As the owner of a practice you have more than one income to protect in the event of a disability. While an individual disability insurance policy will pay you your income during a claim, who is going to pay the business expenses that will add up very quickly while you are not seeing patients?

We sell a Professional Overhead Expense policy that will continue to pay your deductible overhead expenses for up to two years during a disability claim. This will cover your employee's salaries, lease payments, and other necessary expenses so that you have a practice to come back to when you recover.

* Florida does have a two year mental and nervous disability maximum.
